DGWB performs well every year at the OC ADDY® Awards – but this year we were overly excited to receive the OC ADDYs’ top honor: Best of Show for our Wiener Nationals Poster Campaign for longtime client Wienerschnitzel.
In total, we won 32 ADDY Awards, which included six Gold and 11 Silver awards, recognizing the work created in 2012 on behalf of clients Wienerschnitzel, California Avocado Commission, Toshiba America Business Solutions, St. Joseph Health and Bard Valley Natural Delights Medjool Dates. However, it was the Best of Show honor that put the shine upon the entire evening.

Is there a football game or something on Sunday?
Around 111 million sets of eyes will be glued to the screen for the Super Bowl, but what is the real sport being played? With the price for a 30-second spot being $3.5 million, advertisers are entering into a gridiorn of their own to generate the most buzz about not only their brand, but their execution. Almost every brand with a Super Bowl spot is teasing us with short preview clips and contests.
Basically, we’re so ad-hungry, there are commercials for commercials.

On the heels of our domination at the 2012 OC ADDY® Awards, we’ve taken our tally of accolades a notch higher by reaching a national level.
News spread through the office like wildfire that we took home a National Silver 2012 ADDY Award in the Poster Campaign category for our work for longtime client Wienerschnitzel. Awarded national recognition was our exclusive 2011 Wiener Nationals poster campaign, a series of three vintage-styled posters crafted to promote Wienerschnitzel’s 16th annual dachshund race held at Los Alamitos Race Course.
We’re Orange County’s largest independent marketing communications agency, so recognition on a national level only further cements DGWB as a full-service firm that competes on both a regional and national level.

As part of the ongoing goal to make bananas an even bigger part of America’s everyday routine, our client Dole is helping Alex the Lion and his famous Zooster friends from Madagascar “Go bananas” this summer. In 100 million ways, that is.
To help support the launch of Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, which opens today and features a banana-and-monkey-powered airplane, the world’s #1 banana is joining forces with DreamWorks on a number of marketing initiatives, including the placement of 100 million special movie-branded stickers on DOLE® Bananas.
Four versions of the stickers feature Alex, Marty, the Madagascar penguins and monkeys. The stickers and other in-store marketing materials have a QR code directing consumers to a mobile page offering DOLE Bananas recipes and energy-related information, and the official Madagascar mobile app: Madagascar Join the Circus!

What’s a copier company doing asking people to not print?
As contrarian as it sounds, we love the idea, and we’re in. We’ve taken the pledge to not print or copy for an entire day on National No-Print Day, set for Oct. 23, and we think you should do the same by simply ‘liking’ the National No-Print Day Facebook page.
This first-annual nationwide campaign launched this week and is spearheaded by DGWB client Toshiba America Business Solutions. The goal is to encourage, educate and challenge individuals and companies to commit to one day of no printing in order to raise awareness of the impact printing has on our planet.

Friday, March 23, was the theatrical release of The Hunger Games. In August 2011, Lionsgate released a teaser trailer during the MTV Video Music Awards with the hashtag #WhatsMyDistrict. The hashtag on the teaser trailer led curious twitter users to TheCapitol.pn , a hidden website that over time began to reveal its contents. The website allows users to log in using their Twitter or Facebook accounts, which then assigns every person to a ‘district.’ Continue reading →
Year after year post-Super Bowl conversations around the water cooler focus on the commercials–which ads made everyone roar with laughter, and which elicited the sound of crickets. The meteoric rise of social media usage in recent years has only added to the chatter by allowing these conversations to flourish online and allowing viewers to voice their opinions–providing advertisers instant feedback.
