Last weekend we tried our hand at removing invasive plants on the Newport Beach Back Bay… a new twist on beach clean-up!
We tackled another one of our promised initiatives from the list of 25 for 25 by volunteering at the Newport Back Bay. In cooperation with the Back Bay Science Center, we headed out to remove invasive plants at the Newport Valley restoration site, giving new meaning to the term beach clean-up.
Our team aided a group of local volunteers in removing a whopping 600 pounds of invasive plant material on Saturday from the bay front. Visit the Upper Newport Bay Restoration and Education Facebook page to see more pictures and projects.
