BalancedHealthy Headlines Produce for Better Health

The Produce for Better Health (PBH) Consumer Connection Conference had a new BalancedHealthy twist this year.

March’s PBH’s annual Consumer Connection Conference in San Francisco attracted retailers, supermarket dietitians, suppliers, growers, processors and industry leaders. We are very proud to announce that our own Mark Weinfeld, director of strategic planning at DGWB and innovator of BalancedHealthy, and Bob Ochsner, director of PR, were headline speakers at the event.

Weinfeld presented “Six Degrees of BalancedHealthy,” during the consumer research portion of the conference. This included expanding the audience’s knowledge of the six segments that make up the BalancedHealthy study, and also helped explain to industry professionals how they could use the insights on the segments to best message their consumers.

Ochsner moderated an interactive blogger session that helped audience members with their strategy and outreach tactics with food and culinary bloggers. In the ever-growing digital age of health, Ochsner showed how important it is to establish working relationships with the thought leaders of the healthy food movement. Bloggers that were featured included Catherine Cardelucci (Rabbit Food For My Bunny Teeth), Jess Goldman Foung (SodiumGirl.com), Kathy Patalsky (Healthy.Happy.Life l Lunchboxbunch.com) and Amy Sherman (Cooking With Amy).

The DGWB BalancedHealthy and PBH partnership is an exciting new opportunity in both BalancedHealthy and PBH’s goal to move us all forward towards a healthier future. BalancedHealthy has continued its research among the six segments by always keeping a pulse on new trends effecting the health, beauty, fitness, and diet categories at BalancedHealthy.com.

PBH is a nonprofit consumer education foundation that is dedicated to lead people to eat more fruit and vegetables in an effort to live a healthier life. The organization formed in 1991 to serve as a co-sponsor of the 5 A Day for Better Health program and has since expanded to include more than 400 donors and licenses across the U.S.
